Kamala Harris tells crowd ‘I love Gen Z,’ netizens fume: ‘Calling young voters stupid wasn’t working out for her’
Kamala Harris expressed her fondness for Gen Z, despite previously making derogatory remarks about individuals aged 18-24 by calling them “stupid.
During a town hall meeting with former Representative Liz Cheney, Kamala Harris expressed her admiration for Generation Z. The vice president was questioned by moderator Sarah Longwell at a campaign event in Malvern, Pennsylvania, on October 21st, about her vision for the future and the direction she sees the country heading towards.
Longwell was asked by Harris if he desired a sneak peek.
Trump emphasized that his approach symbolizes a fresh era of leadership distinct from the Biden administration. He stressed that his tenure will introduce novel perspectives and learnings, aiming to break away from the pervasive influence of Donald Trump on American discourse over the past decade.
Kamala Harris criticized Trump for exploiting his position to sow discord among the public. In addition, she suggested a revision in the hiring criteria for federal positions, advocating for a shift away from mandatory college degrees. “Let’s assess roles that could thrive with a proficient and seasoned employee who may have completed an apprenticeship program instead of pursuing a traditional four-year degree. It’s crucial to identify and seize the current opportunities by making strategic investments,” she explained.
Harris surprised many with a pivot, stating, “I understand this is a contentious issue for some… I truly admire Gen Z.
She chuckled before saying, “We have Gen Z individuals in our circle, including our children. Understanding them can be challenging, but I truly appreciate Gen Z for their clarity and insight.
Harris noted that the younger generation has grown up amidst the climate crisis and active shooter drills, making them remarkably eager and impatient to make a difference. She highlighted their readiness and urged for investment in their potential.
In 2014, Harris once characterized individuals aged 18-24 as lacking wisdom, stating, “Age transcends mere numbers. Consider the 18-24 cohort – they exhibit a lack of discernment! Hence, we confine them to dorms with RA oversight due to their tendency for poor judgement.” This statement was part of a widely circulated video where Harris discussed initiatives aimed at curbing reoffending rates in this age group.
Her strategy of insulting young voters as unintelligent was proving to be ineffective.Netizens expressed their outrage following Harris’ recent statements. A commenter on Collin Rugg’s video remarked, “Kamala Harris seems unable to keep her falsehoods straight. The repercussions are beginning to surface. It now becomes evident why there was a push to confine her alongside Joe in the basement.” Another user criticized, “Kamala Harris is quick to alter her stance to appeal to her audience. She lacks consistency except in her quest for authority.” Meanwhile, a different individual noted, “When one lacks fundamental principles or convictions, this is the result. She tailors her words to suit the immediate approval of her current audience without contemplating potential future consequences.
One commenter mentioned that the initial lessons for Democrats often involve mastering the art of pandering and changing positions to garner votes, whereas another highlighted the ineffectiveness of calling young voters unintelligent. Another user stated, “She is a significant deceiver! Each of her statements contradicts her previous ones. Kamala Harris’ campaign is in shambles; it’s time for her to throw support behind Trump.
