Live updates on Israel-Hezbollah conflict: Iran lodged a formal complaint with the UN nuclear watchdog regarding Israel’s recent nuclear site threats, revealed Esmaeil Baghaei, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry, as reported by Reuters on Monday. Israel’s threat of retaliation following Iran’s missile strikes on October 1 has raised concerns that Iran’s nuclear facilities might be at risk of attack. Additionally, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is scheduled to visit Bahrain and Kuwait on Monday in a bid to ease regional tensions.

Amidst the backdrop of escalating tensions, a large number of citizens in Beirut hastily evacuated their residences late into the night on Sunday, following a series of explosions reverberating throughout the Lebanese capital. Israel, in a move to target locations associated with the financial activities of the organization, urged the populace to vacate these specific zones without delay. In recent days, the Israeli armed forces have launched strikes on Hezbollah’s weapon storage sites in the southern region of Beirut, its central intelligence hub, and an undisclosed subterranean site utilized for crafting arms.

Last week’s events were marked by a series of intense developments in the Israel-Gaza conflict. Tragically, a significant toll of at least 87 lives lost or missing was reported following an Israeli assault on Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, as confirmed by the Gaza health ministry. These incidents occurred amidst escalating tensions, with a drone targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea. Netanyahu had recently emphasized the potential for swift resolution if Hamas relinquished hostages and ceased hostilities, a proposal which the group rejected. The situation further intensified with the targeted killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by Israeli forces. Subsequently, Hezbollah launched a barrage of approximately 200 projectiles, leading to Israeli military responses that included the destruction of tunnels and subterranean infrastructure in southern Lebanon. The Israeli forces also claimed the elimination of Hezbollah’s deputy commander in the Bint Jbeil area, accentuating the escalating conflict in the region.
