Jaguar Land Rover announced on Wednesday the initiation of a program in India aimed at collaborating with startups to innovate and create cutting-edge products and services that will shape the future customer experiences of the company. The luxury brand, owned by Tata Motors, has introduced the Open Innovation Hub in Bengaluru, expanding on its successful endeavors in the UK, US, Israel, and Brazil.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) stated that the India hub would center on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, analytics, internet of things, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), as well as sensors and devices.

Igor Murakami, the Innovation Director at JLR, expressed that due to India’s flourishing startup ecosystem and JLR’s strong foothold and deep connections with the Tata Group, the nation is the perfect choice for their latest innovation center.

He mentioned that by engaging in international partnerships, the project is linking the car manufacturer with upcoming talent and cutting-edge technologies.

The innovation hub, as mentioned by JLR, will foster collaboration among industry, government, academia, and various stakeholders.

[Rephrased]: The focus will be on brainstorming and creating cutting-edge solutions for JLR, including enhancing batteries for electric powertrains, pinpointing prime spots for charging infrastructure, and enhancing ADAS capabilities further, the statement mentioned.

Since the inception of JLR’s Open Innovation Programme in April 2022, the recently unveiled hub marks the fifth to join the initiative.

Over 2,500 startups worldwide have been involved in the program, leading to 33 established partnerships to date.
