Pak-based new terror outfit dismantled in J&K’s Poonch in major operation

A new militant group suspected to be linked to the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was dismantled by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, according to officials.
The Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of the J&K police recently conducted a major operation, conducting raids in several districts including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama. This operation signifies the ongoing efforts of the authorities to maintain security and combat any threats in the region.
Per law enforcement, they have disrupted a group known as ‘Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim’ (TLM), suspected to have connections with the Pakistan-originated Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Officials stated that ‘Baba Hamas,’ a Pakistani terrorist handler, was reportedly in charge of the outfit.
They mentioned that the raids are ongoing and are still awaiting additional information.
Following an attack in Ganderbal district that resulted in the tragic deaths of a doctor and six migrant workers on Sunday, this counter-terrorism mission took place just one day later, allegedly linked to the Lashkar’s arm, the Resistance Front (TRF).
Security forces have identified Sheikh Sajjad Gul, the leader of TRF from Srinagar, as the brains behind the assault. Sources revealed that the organization has been focusing on both Kashmiri and non-Kashmiri individuals for an extended period. In 2022, the NIA publicized a bounty of Rs 10 lakh for any details that could lead to the apprehension of Gul and three accomplices.
In a collaborative mission on October 30, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully apprehended two terrorists engaged in various assaults in the area. These individuals, recognized as Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain, were seized from Surankote in the Poonch district.
In recent months, the Union Territory has experienced several instances of terrorist attacks, resulting in the tragic loss of lives of security forces. Additionally, numerous terrorists have been neutralized in armed confrontations.
