Odisha is taking proactive measures by evacuating more than a million residents from regions expected to be affected by Cyclone Dana. The authorities have canceled over 300 train services, and flight operations at Kolkata airport will remain suspended from 6 pm today until 9 am on Friday.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings regarding the impact of an approaching cyclone. Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore districts in Odisha are expected to bear the brunt of the cyclone, with wind speeds reaching 100-120 kmph and heavy to very heavy rainfall. The South Eastern Railway division has announced the cancellation of over 150 express and passenger trains. Among the affected services are popular routes such as the Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express, Kamakhya-Yesvantpur AC Express, Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express, Howrah-Bhubaneswar Shatabdi Express, and Howrah-Yesvantpur Express.

Numerous train services have been disrupted by the East Coast Railways, with a total of 198 trains being cancelled. Among them are popular routes such as Howrah-Secunderabad, Shalimar Puri, Kamakhya-Bangalore, and New Delhi-Bhubaneswar. Additionally, services like Kharagpur-Villupuram, Howrah-Bhubaneswar, Shalimar-Hyderabad, and Howrah-Puri have also been affected. Furthermore, the EMU local train operations between Sealdah station and Hasnabad in West Bengal will be halted from 8 pm on Thursday until Friday. The Eastern Railways have similarly announced the cancellation of several express trains, including the Patna-Ernakulam Express, Kolkata-Puri, Puri-Kolkata, Dibrugarh-Kanniyakumari, and Bengaluru-Guwahati routes.
