Vasundhara Oswal’s detention in Uganda has left her parents, Pankaj and Radhika, overwhelmed with guilt and helplessness. Currently hidden in a undisclosed place, they are dedicated to securing her freedom. Meanwhile, Riddhi is tasked with handling family affairs, all the while apprehensive of being targeted by deceitful authorities.

Riddhi Oswal mentioned that her father, Indian billionaire Pankaj Oswal, is experiencing profound guilt over the circumstances that led to sending his eldest daughter Vasundhara to Uganda. She further revealed that he is currently dedicating his efforts to securing her release.

For over three weeks, Vasundhara has been detained in Uganda.

During a recent communication via email with HT.com, Riddhi mentioned that the entrepreneur and his spouse, Radhika Oswal, are currently sequestered in an undisclosed location as they strive to ensure Vasundhara’s liberation.

Additionally, she mentioned that her parents feel even more guilty as they are unable to visit the African nation due to their helplessness.

She informed HT.com that her parents are constrained as they risk immediate arrest by the deeply corrupt authorities in Uganda if they attempt to visit the country.

Riddhi also mentioned that her family discovered the excessive power wielded by the police in Uganda, enabling them to apprehend individuals arbitrarily, “even in the absence of warrants or following correct judicial protocols.

Further elaborating, she expressed concern that should her parents also face arrest, they would be unable to advocate for her sister, who is currently experiencing social isolation and being treated as if she were already convicted of a crime.

Riddhi informed HT.com that her parents, Pankaj and Radhika Oswal, have isolated themselves from the outside world, choosing to interact solely with individuals able to assist her sister.

Taking on the responsibility of overseeing both family and business affairs, the younger Oswal sister now manages everything while her parents focus on ensuring Vasundhara’s freedom.

Spending every moment advocating for the freedom of my sister.

Riddhi revealed that upon learning about Vasundhara’s arrest while they were in London, her parents experienced intense feelings of guilt. They have since secluded themselves in a hidden place, dedicating all their efforts to securing her sister’s release.

She mentioned that they survive on hope and faith, barely consuming more than one meal daily, all in the anticipation of securing their daughter’s freedom.

Riddhi mentioned that her parents carry a heavy burden of guilt as they encouraged her to travel to Africa to supervise the establishment of the factory.

They instilled in us the belief that gender equality is paramount, guiding my sister towards greenfield projects and more demanding tasks instead of offering her simpler or more glamorous assignments solely based on her gender. Presently, they carry a sense of accountability for her circumstances,” she conveyed to HT.com.

The whereabouts of Vasundhara Oswal are unknown.

On October 1, a group of approximately 20 armed individuals abducted Vasundhara Oswal, a 26-year-old, from a distillery established by her family.

Local authorities have connected her confinement in a detention center in Uganda to a continuing inquiry into a disappeared individual — assertions that her relatives vehemently deny.

Earlier this week, a pressing plea was submitted to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.
